Liberty, Frivolity, Fraternity by

These candy dispensers caught my eye inside the M&M World store in Times Square, New York. The difficulty was that I was in the store and had to shoot directly into the light of a huge display window that looked out onto the bustling city centre.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/60 sec, ISO 800, focal length 125mm.

    “The land of the sugar-free”…

Excellent shot.. you mastered your challenge very well!

  • Many thanks, Heather. The only way I could do it was to shoot side-on, rather than from directly in front!

I like the angle of this shot – and I think the yellow and pink in the background adds rather than detracts from the main subject(s) !

  • Thanks, Grandma Mattie, very glad to hear it. I seldom review a shot on my screen – but I did on this occasion, just to make sure the light didn’t overwhelm the subject!

There is freedom in chocolate! This I’ve always known! ;)

    Great photo!

And I love that all your photos are ‘natural’… Very impressive! :D

  • Chocolate rules, Donna! So glad you like the result, and thank you for the acknowledgement that what you see here is exactly what I shoot, with no enhancement.

  • Thanks, Gerrard. I know we emerged from the shop with some purchases, but this, for some reason, was not among them.

welll you did a fantastic job David, I could learn a lot from you I’m sure :o)

  • We all learn from each other, Josie. None of us can ever truly claim to know it all, in any form of art.

Classic. The American way. I prefer eminems myself, but must admit I do take the liberty of enjoying a few of these from time to time ..

  • Smarties are my preferred option, but I’ve been known to dip into the M&Ms occasionally, Bruce!
