Put A (Different) Tiger In Your Tank by

I was reminded instantly of the old Exxon/ Esso advertising slogan “Put a tiger in your tank” as soon as I saw this sight on Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

But rather than simply photographing the unfurled, scroll-like ads, I decided to move sideways in order to get in some local flavour. Can you spot a) palm trees, b) a hydraulic arm, c) the colourful front end of a mobile crane and d) a back-to-front sign?

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/125 sec, ISO 200, focal length 108mm.

It dies look a little like a petrol station too… until you look closer and realise it’s a bus stop and indeed a different type of Tiger.

They asked me how I kneww it was Esso blue lalala :-P

  • Thank you, Ellis. Have to say I didn’t try to tame this Tiger!

Good one. Depending of the number of these Tigers ingested, I presume it can bring any spirit to you, not just the festival one ;-)
