Artist's Description

Put on your thinking caps, have as many guesses as you want – and most of all, have fun. Your time starts …. NOW!

Spoiler alert: do not read any further unless you want the answer revealed.

First part of the question: Solved by UK-based Ellis Morley Photography, who correctly identified it as the wheel of a child’s rollerblades, hence the plastic construction.

Second part of the question: In which country was the term ``rollerblade’’ first registered as a trademark?

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using an SMC Pentax-DA 1:2.8mm macro lens. F3.5, 1/90 sec, ISO 200, focal length 35mm.
