Ben, of the Royal Australian Navy, was at Southbank yesterday after the Anzac Day parade.
The poppy on his chest is paired with a miniature Australian flag and says: “Remembrance gift from the Shrine of Remembrance”. The Shrine, on St Kilda Road, is where the dawn commemorative service is held each year on Anzac Day, 25 April.
I was actually taking some shots across the river, which is why I had the long lens on, instead of the 18-125mm lens I generally use. But rather than change lenses to take this shot, I did the best I could in patchy late-evening light.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 70-300mm lens. F5.6, 1/90 sec, ISO 400, focal length 70mm.
