Solved by Melboune-based Red Bubbler JF Pictures, who correctly identified them as Nintendo games. They are a selection of Nintendo 64 cartridges.

Ah, Mr McMahon, I think you are trying to fool us. Perhaps the picture is on its side.

Cases, plastic cases for DVDs or somesuch.

  • No sir, the picture is not on its side, trust me. It is depicted exactly as I shot it. You are not far off the mark in your guesses …..!

Cases for photodisks then. Or even photographs.

  • Not photo disks, not photos cases!

The yellow and grey ones made me think medical. X-rays. But the gold ones? Too showy.

  • Not medical. Not X-rays. And yes, they are VERY showy!!!!! Ahem, ahem ….

Have you been in that shop again that you were telling me about?

  • Not yet. But in case you’re wondering aloud, this was not shot in a store!

If I’m not far off the mark with cases, they are not shot in a store and are very showy….then I’m a bit lost. The cases bit rules out deckchairs which would be showy. In any case (pun alert) they don’t look big enough. They look like they are on a shelf.

  • They are fairly small, and in a self-contained case. Each of these items is an individual item.
