This unusual lamp was above our table at the Lindt Cafe in the central Sydney area known as The Rocks.
My challenge, I knew, was to capture the many subtle differences in tone, with the light shining brightly on some parts, rendering them gold; shining less vividly on others, turning them into the colour of wheat; and leaving the undersides of each disc-shaped piece as dark brown as a harvested field.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Siigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/60 sec, ISO 800, focal length 88mm.
