This shot of Buddhist prayer flags was taken in mid-2007.
I was fascinated by the bright yellow fabric, as well as the intriguing script – which I’m guessing is an incantation of prayer to be recited.
By choosing my angle and composition carefully, the central focus is on contrasting colours, while the depth of field leads the eye to the next flag in the background.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using an SMC Pentax-DA 1:2.8mm macro lens. F2.8, 1/60 sec, ISO 800, focal length 35mm.
