There’s nothing more dramatic than the sight of an afterburner during a night-flying display.
I shot this freehand, after a quick sprint to see if I could actually capture an entire afterburner flame as this US Navy F-15 Eagle took off during the 2009 Australian International Air Show at Avalon Airport.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot without a tripod, using a Pentax K100D fitted with a Sigma 70-300mm lens. F5.6, 1/8 sec, ISO 800, focal length 300mm.
