Put Your Neck On The Line - Literally!by David McMahon
These bracelets and necklaces were on display at a temporary waterfront stall at Melbourne’s Docklands precinct on Sunday, as the city sizzled during a four-day heatwave.
I had actually walked briskly past them when I did a U-turn (like the Road Runner cartoons) and asked the owners of the stall if I could shoot the bright colours of the necklaces.
It was an interesting shot to take. Although the light was so strong in the heat of the afternoon, the beads on the left were well lit, while those on the right were in shade.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F9.5, 1/350 sec, ISO 200, focal length 68mm.
Thanks very much, Don. We’ve finally had a cool change come through with a little rain after sweltering in bushfire conditions for four days….. hope the Big Thaw has started in your neck of the woods.
