Ebony And Ivory by David McMahon

Canvas Prints

Small (12.0" x 8.0")

The late-evening light across this keyboard was way too low for comfort, but even though there were several people milling around at this indoor art show in 2007, I decided to embrace the concept of a low-light shot without a tripod. (1,009 views on 1 November 2014)

On the subject of the title, here’s a question for you. Which two entertainers had a No.1 hit in 1982 with the track “Ebony and Ivory” (see below for the answer).

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/20 sec, ISO 800, focal length 125mm.

(The two entertainers were Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder.)

Thanks for the background on this! What an unusual view of a piano, great pov as Jenny says. It also shows a lot about cameras compared to eyes.

  • Thank you very much, Jenny – from memory I just shot one frame, because the light was so bacd. Glad you like the pov.
