Solve This Puzzle: What Is This Mystery Object? by

Put on your thinking caps. There is no limit to the number of guesses you can make …

SPOILER ALERT: Do not read any further if you DON’T want to know the answer ….

Solved in a combined effort by two UK-based Red Bubblers. CJTill figured out very quickly that it was a counter-balance and Arrowman was the one who realised it was the counter-balance mechanism on a lift. Yes, I shot this yesterday and it is indeed a close-up of the counter-balance on a lift/ elevator at Federation Square.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 70-300mm lens. F6.7, 1/125 sec, ISO 400, focal length 150mm.

i can’t solve the mystery…looks like a rivet to a door frame or something…but i love the fantastic splash of yellows, and black..kneissly done mate.

  • Thanks for being the first to make an attempt – it’s always hard to crack the case if there are no other guesses. Yes, it looks like a door frame, but it’s not, Gerrard. Glad you like the shot!
