Looks like I just cracked a cold case!

If you’re wondering what these brightly coloured objects are, allow me to explain ….

Here in Australia, we like to drink our beer icy-cold, so these soft, cylindrical objects are called “stubby coolers”. Our beer cans are called stubbies, and rather than allowing the warmth of our hands to permeate through to a soothing ale, we tend to hold the beer cans in these unique, simple devices.

I shot this in June this year, at the world-famous Ettamogah Pub outside Albury, New South Wales,

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/20 sec, ISO 800, focal length 68mm.

Great shot. Just to boast a little here though, my father transported the car on the roof from the Ettamogah in QLD to this one in NSW and was in charge of putting it up on the roof :) Awesome shot!!I’m off to open up a coldie right now!

  • Thanks, Malcolm – what a great personal connection to the Ettamogah chain. I hope you know all the details of your father’s trip from QLD to NSW – that would make a fascinating story!
