Can you solve this visual mystery? You can have as many guesses as you want ….
In less than half an hour, Shelly Hiebert in Canada has nailed part of the answer, saying it is a Christmas tree. A few minutes later, Sazfab in the UK has solved another part of the puzzle, correctly using the word “carousel” …. so we’re almost at the end solution! Who can come up with the answer of what this unique Christmas tree is?
And a few minutes later Sazfab has solved it in its entirety, working out the fact that it is a miniature musical Christmas tree carousel. Big round of applause for Shelly and Sazfab. By the way, this is Sazfab’s THIRD correct solution in my weekend mystery pictorial puzzle series!
The little Christmas tree is only about eight inches high and in order to get an unusual view, I shot it from directly above. It was shot indoors, in normal light, with my default 18-125mm lens, not a macro lens. As you can see, I’ve utilised depth of field to add to the intrigue, with only the yellow star in sharp focus.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/10 sec, ISO 800, focal length 125mm.
