Did you notice the all-seeing eye painted on this old vessel in Singapore?

It was only when I composed this shot that I noticed two interesting factors. First, have a look at the beautiful wooden bench on the covered deck. And second, did you noticed the potted plants on the bow?

I was also intrigued by the gold-painted decorative metal on the right-angled red railings.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/125 sec, ISO 400, focal length 68mm.

Top 10 in RED BOATS challenge, January 2010.

I love the thought and time you put into your work David :) Wonderful details all around and yes, perfectly composed :)

  • Thank you very much, Shelly. I wonder if there is some significance to the “eye” – I’m trying to find out, through a friend who lives in Singapore…..

A wonderful shot – love the colours on the boat

  • Thank you, Shulie. There were other boats there too, in the same colour scheme. Maybe it’s a common theme …..

The all seeing eye is what made me KNOW it’s in Singapore ;-)

Apparently these boats have been replaced with newer tourist friendly ones, but I did not get a chance to check that out when I was there the last time. Shame.

  • Yes, I did see some newer boats, but these ones were still operating in December 2007, when this shot was taken.
