Sometimes the simplest objects can create intriguing results. This is a contemporary pencil case made from multiple strips of brightly coloured fabric. (2,034 views and 16 favourites on 28 August 2014.)
My eye was caught by the long vertical strips of interlocking teeth – and the fact that each strip ends in a metal tab.
The sharp focus of the tabs in front was perfect to use depth of field to emphasise the fact that the rear tabs (literally only a centimetre away) were visible but in soft focus.
I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D in dull light, using my favourite lens, a Sigma 18-125mm.
