Solve This Puzzle: What Is This Mystery Object? by

Put on your thinking caps, have as many guesses as you want – but most of all, have fun. Your time starts … NOW!

Spoiler alert: do not look any further, unless you want the answer.

First part of the question: solved by Ranald, who correctly identified it as a basketball post, after some very determined sleuthing from This Girl.

Second question: which country is represented by the map in this photograph? Ranald (who must be a mind reader) correctly answered “Australia” even before I had finished typing the question!

Third question: what is represented by the little dot down the bottom of the mainland? Solved yet again by Ranald, who answered Tasmania before I posted the question!

Fourth question:" If an Australian refers to you as “Bluey”, what colour is your hair? Solved by LeslieBC, all the way from Vancouver, who correctly answered “red hair”.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/60 sec, ISO 200, focal length 125mm.

    train thing or streetcar thing

  • I have to give you points for the word “thing” – that’s really made me smile. But the real Australianism is “thingy” !! No, not a train a streetcar thing/ thingy!

Greetings David; not sure, maybe a sign of some sort?
    steve

  • Hi Steve – it is a sign, but that is not the PRIMARY function of this object.
