M.C. Hammock, You've Been Roped In by

This shot of a hammock was taken in a Melbourne back yard in February this year (2009). The thing that really caught my eye was the many folds of fabric, the coloured stripes and the fact that a tight composition would emphasise the difference in thickness and texture between the fabric and the rope strands on the left. (237 views on 4 July 2011.)

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/25 sec, ISO 400, 88mm.

A great shot David, so clear. You can even see the coloured flecks in the rope.
Great contrast of colours that blend so well together.
    Fantastic composition

  • Thank you very much, Thomas. It was a very sunny morning, but the hammock was in shade, so the light was just perfect for this sort of representation.

beautiful shot, love the colors and folds.

  • Thank you, JustArt. I think I shot about six frames, but this one just had the edge over the others precisely because of the folds.
