“Which one of you clowns is responsible for this mess? Okay, I’ll let you off just this time, just because you look fairly ’armless”. One sale and 1099 views on 21 February 2011.
The interesting aspect of this shot is the number of geometrical shapes – there are triangles, ovals, squares, rectangles and circles.
(These clowns are an integral part of every Australian fairground – the aim is to drop a series of table tennis balls into their open mouths as the figures rotate, with prizes determined by the result.)
I do not crop or post-edit my work. What you see is exactly what I shoot. Shot at the Royal Melbourne Show in 2007, using a Pentax K100D fitted with a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F6.7, 1/60 sec, ISO 400, focal length 58mm.

This took my eye…so colourful…I wonder why the artist painted all their faces so similar? Great shot~ Anni
Thanks, Anni, I’m so glad you liked the shot. These ones were actually marginally different from each other – normally they are exact clones. Clones of the clowns!

They look as though they are singing. Or maybe they are hungry birds waiting to be fed??? Love the angle and colors!
Hi Kat – yes, definitely waiting to be ``fed’’ the table tennis balls that then drop into the numbered slots below, defining whether or not the contestant wins a prize!
