Aboriginal artwork on this Qantas Boeing 737-800 makes it one of the most expensive airborne pieces of art ever created. The aircraft is called Yananyi Dreaming. Shot in Melbourne, 2007. (1,766 views and one sale on 9 November 2013.)

I do not crop or post-edit my work in any way. What you see is exactly what I shoot. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8 1/350 sec, ISO 200, focal length 98mm.

Wow, thats really a fantastic shot and the plane must look incredible flying along with all that decoration!

  • Thanks, Marguerite – I’m so glad you like the shot. The first Qantas aircraft I actually saw with Aboriginal art across its fuselage was a Jumbo, a 747, on the tarmac at Sydney, in 1998.

  • Thank you VERY much. I’m delighted that you and your co-hosts featured this image. It is my celebration of the corporate decision by Qantas, made in the Nineties, to feature Aboriginal art on their jets. My thanks to you and your co-hosts ……

    congradulations on your feature

  • Thanks so much, GabbieLizzie. I know there are at least three Qantas jets that have been painted in Aboriginal art – but this was the first time I was able to shoot one from close quarters.
