This illuminated dragon – reflected in the water beneath it – is part of a water sculpture at the Bishan temples in Singapore. It is poetically described, in the signs around it, as the “Dragon Pond”.
The image was shot freehand, without a tripod.
The temple complex is officially known as the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery and is situated on Sin Ming Avenue, opposite the beautiful park that extends from Bishan to Ang Mo Kio.
I shot this image as part of a series this evening (May 12, 2014), as hundreds of pilgrims flocked to the temples to celebrate Vesak Day, or the day of Buddha’s birth and enlightenment.
