Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (And Triangles)

I was walking past the Arts Centre on St Kilda Road about three weeks ago and my attention was caught by the sound of the Melbourne Festival flags being whipped in the afternoon breeze.

That’s when I realised that careful composition could bring me a really interesting image, if I used the flags but shot a tight frame from under the Arts Centre spire, to utilise the metallic structure as a motif across the entire image.

I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 70-300mm lens. F9.5, 1/350 sec, ISO 200, focal length 70mm.
