The Tarot: XVIII - The Moon by David Hitchcock

The Tarot: XVIII - The Moon by

A sketch in my new ‘Tarot’ series project in preparation for the finished picture.

This one represents card XVIII – The Moon.

‘The Moon’ is supposed to be an ominous card with a sense of foreboding, and I tried to convey this with the deep shadows and the girl’s expression.

The girl wears the symbol of Pisces and the letter Qoph from the Hebrew alphabet, which are both associated with the card.

This sketch was executed purely in blue pencil.
