Literally translated into English as Castle of the City of Crows.

I was visiting friends on a boat on the Llangollen canal in north Wales this summer and a group of us walked up to the nearby Castell Dinas Bran for a barbeque one evening. After taking some photographs and eating our food we found ourselves being enshrouded by cloud. Then, out of the mists, came a magesterial old golden retriever (probably from a local farm) who sat by us. As we realised the light was fast fading we promptly made a determined but steady descent.

Wikipedia has more info on the history and myth surrounding the castle.

Congrats on feature, and on walking to top of the ‘Crow’, as well as an excellent shot.

I recently put up a couple of shots of Castell Dinas Bran though from further afield

  • Thanks Aggpup, those are nice shots.
