The sunset infused sky behind a silhouetted tree on the site of the old medieval settlement recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Wluerintone.

The medieval village was deserted due to enclosure of the large strip cultivation fields into small “closes” by the local landlords, the Longville family, who turned arable land over to pasture. The area is now know as Old Wolverton and is part of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.
