HDR- HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE PHOTOGRAPHY
High dynamic range (HDR) images enable photographers to record a greater range of tonal detail than a given camera could capture in a single photo
This allows the photographer to combine a series of bracketed exposures into a single image which encompasses the tonal detail of the entire series.
The human eye can actually perceive a greater dynamic range than is ordinarily possible with a camera, our eyes can see over a range of nearly 24 f-stops.
I use HDR to extract the detail in the shadows and highlights and try and capture the image as I see it, as I know my cameras tonal range I can meter the scene and calculate the range and then set my exposure accordingly and then shoot the image.
