Monitor Calibration and ICC printing profiles.

I regularly calibrate my equipment.

A Few links to help you understand all about Monitor Calibration and ICC Profiles in the New Age of Digital Printing.

Everything you ever wanted to know about ICC printing

Everything you ever wanted to know about Monitor Calibration

This Site has everything you ever wanted to know, as Digital Processing is a very complex subject.

Gone are the days you drop your negatives into the Labs and they do all the work for you.

It would be nice if REDBUBBLE could make the ICC profiles available of the printers they use so we can proof our work against their printers.

If you go and read my other Journals I have more on this topic.

I like to try to help people, and share my knowledge.

Great information David, and definitely worth asking.

That second link also points to this great page which all visual artists should be reading:

Hope you don’t mind me mentioning this site here: I found another site (via a lot of twists and turns starting at that site) related to this subject:
IMATEST, Measure the performance of cameras, lenses, scanners, and printers. .
Worth reading because the maker and writer, Norman Koren, is a photographer!

Good info David. I am very fortunate in that I have a great graphics monitor and so far everything I have bought from redbubble has matched up perfectly with what I see in my monitor when doing my editing. Lucky I guess.
I’m sure a lot of people are not getting the same result. The information you have given should help those who are having some problems! Thanks for the post!

Hey David thanks for posting the links to these sites as per requested. Now all we need to do is to get RB to put their ICC profiles up for download.

Some of us have had issues with this big time – certainly would be great if RB could help by providing their ICC profiles.

Thank you David. I do the same with a Spyder. I wish RedBubble would let us have the icc’s too because I just bought on of my t-shirts and it looked horrible. The photo prints fine at home. I work in Adobe RGB and I even turned the photo into srgb (as per their guidelines) to compensate but I am very unhappy with the results. I want to put more photos on here but I don’t want people buying something as dark and poorly printed as my t-shirt was. It’s not good publicity. RedBubble needs to let us pro’s decided how our artwork looks.

Agree with you 100% Cathy, i had 10 Calendars printed and they were very dark i had a few shirts done they were good.

I have work on another Site and they do have available the icc profiles of the printers they use.
