The Seasons of the Doodle Charm Tree by

WINTER: The Doodle Charm tree lies dormant. There are great things happening inside it’s trunk and branches. The tree is excited, as only a tree can be! Large amounts of stored energy are being used to give birth to “doodle charms”.

SPRING: In this fantasy world, ‘Spring’ is the time when “doodle charms” burst forth from buds into a riot of colour. Families come from near and far to view the spectacle.

SUMMER: A time when the doodle charms develop a yellow aura generated from exposure to strong sunlight. They change form slowly and when a barcode and ‘Made in China’ appear on the verso, they are mature (unlike the writer of this text!).

AUTUMN (Fall): A time when the doodle charms fall from the tree and form a wonderful coloured carpet. People again come from near and far to collect the doodle charms. They decorate their homes and give them as presents. Unfortunately many find their way into land-fill. Millions, over the years, have been washed into the seas and oceans, only to be eaten by sea creatures. Many millions can be found in the gyre of marine debris in the central North Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean.

Illustrator, musician and artist who loves his family to bits, probably sums me up.
