Wow! So crisp, the lines of their markings stand out so well, and the beak pointing up…..what parent can’t relate!!?>

    G’day David,

I find this great bird shot to be very appealing. The subject is unique and I find the bird with its uplifted beak and the imitating chick a lovely contrast with the sleeping birds.
Your central composition works well in snapping the eye to the main character in the scene while the chick offsets the centralisation slightly.
The lighting and exposure are excellent although I feel that a slight lowering of Highlights in Photosop would be a good idea.
Your depth of field, focal point and nice sharp focus have rendered very good detail right through the scene as well as creating a nice bokeh.
The colours are lovely and natural but could do with a boost and the tones and contrasts are very pleasing.
A very good bird study with the added spice of that something different.
