Going back to Antarctica!
Some of you may recall that I was in Antarctica last year, and am taking 16 other photographers back with me this November. And now I’m going back again in March 2011 ! This time the ship is only taking 27 passengers, and the whole voyage will be “focussed” on photography, with two expert photographers onboard as part of the expedition team. We’ll be exploring the Antarcti…
Gloves for photography
This weekend I found a supplier for my favourite gloves for photography in cold weather. If you photograph in cold weather (for example on my Arctic or Antarctic workshops :) ) I recommend you check them out!
Of course, some people have extremities less (or more) sensitive to cold, but these have worked great for me for several years now.
Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk - July 24, 2010 in Carlton
The Worldwide Photo Walk is on again (this is it’s 3rd year). This year I’m leading one of the walks in Carlton, Victoria.
Come along and join us for a couple of hours of relaxed wandering (along a route I’ve laid out through some interesting locations) with a group of fellow photographers. We tend to spread out along the route and not travel “in a pack” so much, but…
Antarctica photo workshop update
Bookings for our Antarctica 2010: A Photo Odyssey trip to South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula this November are about to close (by the end of April 1, in fact). That’s less than a week away!
So far we have a mostly-Australian group (with some Canadians thrown in for good measure!). I’m happy to say that several of these people are RedBubblers!
There’s room for a few more pe…
Photography trip to Antarctica!
If you’ve been considering travelling to South Georgia and Antarctica to photograph penguins, seals, icebergs, and mountains, you may be interested in a photography workshop/tour that’s been announced for November 2010:
Antarctica 2010: A Photo Odyssey
Places are limited, so book early!
Yes, I’m one of the leaders of the trip!
New photography workshops in Victoria in 2010
I’ve just extended my schedule of photography workshops for the rest of 2010.
If you’re interested in weekends of photography and Lightroom training in Melbourne, boat trips from Portland (western Victoria) to photograph albatrosses/etc, or a full weekend of wildlife photography (mainly gannets) in Portland, please have a look!
Further workshops will be added to the schedule soon.
Here…
2 places available in Wildlife Photography Workshop Jan 15-18
Due to a last-minute cancellation (I can’t blame them: it’s a disaster when your business burns down!) I have 2 new places available in this weekend’s workshop at a special price.
If you’re interested in photographing gannets at the nest and on the wing and seals at play, and can be in Portland (Victoria) this weekend, please follow through to the entry about this on my bl…
Heading to the cold, dark North!
Having been in Antarctica in January for the southern summer, next month I’m heading to Norway to spend some of the northern winter above the Arctic Circle!
I get to be the Artist in Residence aboard the MS Trollfjord travelling along the Norwegian coast. I’ll be back for New Year’s, so expect to see aurora photos in the new year!
You can read more and you’ll be able to fo…
Places now open in my January wildlife photography workshops!
I’m running two 3-day workshops in January in Portland (western Victoria) teaching 6 people (on each workshop) the ins and outs of effective photography with two types of subject. Most of the (long) weekend we will be photographing gannets at Australia’s only mainland colony of these birds. My Coming home and Flaps down were taken here, along with a few others in my RedBubble library.…
Going to the cold Deep South
I’ll be back in February with lots of new images and experiences.
If you try to contact me in the meantime, your message will just sit here waiting for me, getting very lonely. But I will eventually get to it.
In the meantime, I hope you all have a great January!
Cheers,
David
