120 Handmade Compact Pinhole

Posted 3 months ago

Here is an initial drawing of my design for a 120 pinhole. I am trying to get a compact design this time by using a bellows on the front of the camera.
The idea is that the bellows will be extended and collapsed.

The bellows will also be hand made.

When the bellows are collapsed you have a thin wooden slip box that slips over the entire camera, very neat and small in size.

Don't Do This at Home!!!!

Posted 4 months ago

OK, well I guess it had to happen sometime… you wouldn’t think that it is possible, BUT IT IS!!

NEVER, I repeat NEVER, put in the fixer before the developer when you develop B&W film.

UNLESS, you would love to have a lovely piece of CLEAR plastic to hang up in your lounge room for some decoration.

Live and learn…...

4x5 Pinhole DIY

Posted 10 months ago

Hi, I am currently doing a video series on YouTube on building a 4×5 pinhole from scratch. Check it out. I will be covering everything from building to making the pinhole and measuring the hole with a common scanner and photoshop, to shooting with the camera and looking at exposure conversions for the camera.

DIY Reflector for the 430EX

Posted about 1 year ago

This came about when a good friend rang for some help. Shooting a party can be a little scary for anybody in their first time, but with a little help we can produce prints that look a lot better than just a “snappy”.

So the first no-no I guess in this way of shooting is to never shoot flash straight onto the subject, this is a very harsh way of applying light to your subject.

What we need…

The Polaroid Land 350

Posted about 1 year ago

I thought I would show you what the Polaroid Land Camera looks like.
The 350 model.

This is the camera I use for all the Polaroid stuff I do here. I think it’s a piece of art. Definitely don’t make cameras like this anymore.

Brownie to Pinhole

Posted about 1 year ago

Just wanted to upload the image of my Box Brownie. I bought this in an antique shop in Mittagong not long ago, and decided to do a pinhole conversion to it.
This is my result. I will in the near future be putting together a short video on what I did to the camera, and show you how easy it is to make your own pinhole. The results are excellent.

These cameras are VERY cheap. I payed somethin…

Lakeside Rollei Series

Posted about 1 year ago

Well, today was the first day of my Rollei getting a workout… as I am typing this, the film is still in the camera and I will probably develop it this afternoon.
A bit like a lucky dip I guess, you never know what’s going to come out off the film.

So I have 12 shots in this series, keep an eye out for them soon!

Just a boy in a lolly shop!

Posted about 1 year ago

Well after walking the hot tin roof for more than 11 days, it’s finally arrived, my Rolleicord, all the way from the states. I am absolutely like a boy who has just stepped back in time and have 2 pennies to spend in the milk bar.

I can’t wait for the weekend, I have 4 rolls ready to go.

Will be posting my first prints from the negs this weekend… I love the size of this neg, AWESOME!
