These radiant flowers bloom on stems 30 to 60cm high hovering over coarsely hairy grayish green leaves found mostly around the base. Multiple rays are 2-3cm long and shallowly toothed at ends. Each disk flower in center head is enfolded by a scale. The plants flower October – June from southeastern California to southwestern Utah and Arizona.
