La Sra. Ramona displays her artwork for me on the plaza in Zacatlán, Puebla México. Ramona is a sort of embroidery Mozart in the sense that her hands skillfully stitch the patterns and images flowing through her mind. None of her designs are identical, and one could spend delightful hours gazing upon the colorful flowers and fantastic creatures gracing her wearable tapestries.
Ramona is a single mother who supports 9 children with her artwork. She embroiders shawls, blouses and other types of clothing made from locally woven wool. One of her shawls sold for $850.00 pesos, ($63˙US) while I was visiting her “Puesto” but prices range depending on the size of the product and the intricacy of her artwork.

Yes, she is obviously thrilled with her artwork. I forgot to mention that the designs are just as impressive on the back as they are in front – a fact I find bewildering. Thank you so much for your attention and comments :-)
That´s so wonderful…how many dollars are 850.00 pesos? o eran 850 dollars the price? This is so great to post into IBEROAMERICAN COLORS…Richard….so splendid and expressive of what we are meaning with the group?. She is an artist and deserves to be here and deserves to sell more and more….so that someone that will visit that plaza will ask for her and buy her merchadise. Rosa
Thank you Rosa. 850 pesos is around $63.00 dollars. I see I have neglected to mention this, so I added it to the description. I do hope these photographs serve to promote her artwork and that visitors to Zacatlan will look for her. Thanks again for starting Iberoamerican Colors. I don’t have a lot of photographs that fit the focus of this group, but I will look through my gallery to see if there are more.
Well Richard..I do not think that the images would have to fit to hard on that focus…I know you have plenty of them…plenty ..in fact I have enjoyed your almost mystical presence…even your house where you live is like something so conected to some perfect place where you ban breath that feeling. I do not think that the works must be just like something showing indigenous people, or sort ofd traditional and country like craftmanship….I beleive that the spirit is what it counts. The only thing is that it must have a title and must have a description that will conect your soul with others souls…and these may understand how close we are and how rooted we feel. You have many of that..and talk a real good Spanish…Richard!! Go….go! Rosa
