Artist's Description

A mature, and slightly graying, iguana lunching on some delicious green leaves at the Centro Ecologico in Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico.

Photographed with an Olympus E-3 and 50-200mm lens at 200mm.

The green iguana, Iguana, iguana , is native to Mexico and South America and grows to nearly two meters in length. They are herbivores and relatively docile creatures. This one seems overjoyed to have found a tree here in the Sonoran desert and seldom comes down from its branches. Learn more about these amazing lizards at Wikipedia
