Intriguing Richard! Love the colours and shapes! ;o)

  • Thanks Krys. The background is a hand woven placemat I bought from a craftsman down here in sunny Mexico.

  • Thanks Michael. It took a lot of tries, but that’s the great thing about digital, you can shoot as many frames as you want until you finally get what you’re after :-)

This is so perfect……..did you have to do it several times to get the effect you were going for?? I love how it worked out!! Beautiful image!! And yes Elton Johns
Candle in the wind does come to mind
I hope the link works……I actually chose Good-bye England’s Rose……this is such a touching performance!!

  • Hey, the link works fine, and I like your choice.
It did take quite a few tries to get right, and then this particular shot was sort of a fluke. I leaned in to blow out the candle, and when I drew my head back out of the scene the air current created that swoosh with the smoke. Luckily, I had my hand on the cable release and was able to take the photo right away. I think the hardest part is getting the flash level right so that it illuminates the smoke but doesn’t create glare on the candle.
Thank you for your great comments Elizabeth and for adding the link :-)

    Has conseguido una magia especial.
A blow in the Lifés conscience
    My hands trembling with fear.
Nothing is lost in the clasping.
