I am the Journey
Inspirational print version. Also see my T-shirt with this design.
The text around this image reads as follows: “I am the curving branch dancing in the wind, I am the drop of dew clinging to the tip of a delicate leaf, I am the firm bolder upon which fertile earth has gathered and into which creep the roots of a mighty pine. I am the rustling leaves and the autumn breeze. I am the silence that surrounds me and flows through me. I am the path, I am the wanderer and I am the journey”.
Life is often thought of as a journey, and there are many ideas about just how much we humans have been able to influence our own direction and the obstacles we might find along the way. Mankind is often blamed for the state of the world, but when it comes to taking responsibility for our own direction we too often bend to the force of external pressures or blame these for our failures and successes. Thus, this work is my tribute to the idea that we create the journey upon which we partake … up to the smallest and most insignificant detail.

I have the t-shirt with this image and it’s gorgeous. Now I’m ordering the print. It will make a great gift for anyone who loves nature. Also, it has kind of a zen feeling that’s wonderful.

Beautiful photo, and strong thoughtful and beautiful words. The meaning behind the words is relevant, but I do not always agree. I think sometimes there are things beyond our control. I know this from personal experience, however I appreciate the sentiment and the lovely photo. And yes, life is a journey. Smiles from Jane:-)

Thank you very much for mentioning my work. I am most pleased when my artwork is appreciated by others; i.e. it stirs emotion within them.
I have also used this poem with a piece on my other RB site which I set up for my non-photography based art. Please look at it when you get a chance. It’s titled Be. You can click on Be to see the specific work or go to RichardArt
