Intriguing is the word isn’t it? The first time I saw a shot of it I went and did the same thing you did too. Just to be sure it was real more than anything else. ;)
Truly amazing shot! It looks like the structure is half-way sunk into the water. The eye can certainly be fooled. This goes immediately into my collection of favorites. Wonderful work.

What an amazing composition – I love how the shoreline leads your eye to the building.
beautiful!
Great shot Dave. This intrigued me so much, I found the Google Maps link:

Thanks Wildwings. It’s not so much a case of the eye being fooled, it’s more a case of half of the church really being buried.

This is really something. Thanks for the link. It’s appreciated.
Very nice work.
you reckon they can get insurance?
Just beautiful!
Certainly an odd structure – quite attractive. Been to the location many times, but Ive never thought to take a picture of it.
fascinating! Have you been in this half filled up building? guess it must have had some ceiling height to spare!
Sadly, no, I’ve not been in yet. Each time I’ve been there it’s been closed. :-(
