What an amazing composition – I love how the shoreline leads your eye to the building.

Great shot Dave. This intrigued me so much, I found the Google Maps link:

    Google Maps Aerial Shot

  • Intriguing is the word isn’t it? The first time I saw a shot of it I went and did the same thing you did too. Just to be sure it was real more than anything else. ;)

Truly amazing shot! It looks like the structure is half-way sunk into the water. The eye can certainly be fooled. This goes immediately into my collection of favorites. Wonderful work.

  • Thanks Wildwings. It’s not so much a case of the eye being fooled, it’s more a case of half of the church really being buried.

Certainly an odd structure – quite attractive. Been to the location many times, but Ive never thought to take a picture of it.

fascinating! Have you been in this half filled up building? guess it must have had some ceiling height to spare!

  • Sadly, no, I’ve not been in yet. Each time I’ve been there it’s been closed. :-(
