Hack: RedBubble Art Manager for Windows v1.8.0.0 Released

I’ve just uploaded a new version of my RedBubble art manager application (this is v1.8.0.0). You can get it from here.

This release makes a couple of small changes to the HTML and MediaRSS export facilities.

Now, when you export some HTML, you can specify if you want the images to link to the normal view page for a work or link to the buy page:

When you export a MediaRSS file you can also specify where the links will go. You can also set your own values for some of the key items of information in the resulting RSS file:

Should I uninstall the current version before downloading this one?

  • Dave Pearsonbeta tester replied

It shouldn’t be necessary, it should just install over the top of the existing installation. At least, I think that’s how I’ve got the installer working.

Thanks Dave. Great program. I used it together with some Excel formulas to make a thumbnail page of my portfolio
If you need a programming challenge (...) it would be nice to have the option to select a certain tag word and that it would only download images with that tag word. Of course downloading all the tags and the ability to select by tag could be an option too.

  • Dave Pearsonbeta tester replied

Downloading based on a tag actually isn’t that much of a challenge. I added that ability to the command line based downloader some time ago. It’s more a case of time. If/when I get the time I probably should add that ability to RBArtMan.

However, as for downloading the list of tags and allowing selecting from them… probably not. That would make downloading an art list an awful lot slower because it would require downloading the display page of every work in a portfolio. It could be done, but I’d sooner not do it.

Sadly all I’m getting is this at the moment :(

  • Dave Pearsonbeta tester replied

Sorry, haven’t a clue what that means. RBArtMan itself is working just fine for me here and that isn’t an error message from RBArtMan itself (although it could be an error from lower down that it is handling).

Installed it on my laptop running via the same network, not a problem. Gonna go and play with some cascading style sheets now.
