I’ve never managed to even see a sundog let alone capture one with the Nikon. Lovely work! Any idea what altitude that cirrus is likely to be?

Sundogs are actually more common that most people think (generally more common than rainbows, for example). It’s just a case of knowing where and when to look (as you’ll imagine, rainbows are pretty obvious—sundogs less so).
No, not sure what altitude it would have been.

Although I suspect I might misrepresented our village. It only looks so sunny because I generally don’t go out when the weather’s not so nice, which is about half the time. ;)
