strange how we both put up symbolic images on the same day!
you have got some wonderful light here Dave and the colours are soft and very beautiful and to me what comes over very well is the way that you still have some luminosity in the cross.
I wonder what happened for them to have this displayed in there living room?

Are we looking for a deeper meaning in life Marshall, I hope the print come out well.

A catholic cross in a catholic country…. the ultimate panacea for the masses, why have so many had to die in the name of the symbol! oh rant over, hate to ask the question, but for such a strong subject have you tried it in B&W? the colours are lovely but the image for me is all about the cross and the decay and think in mono this would only add more impact?
(still don’t know what i am talking about, but trying to learn!!)

  • Dave Miller replied

I think people believe in what they need to, to get them through life.
Just had a quick look in B&W but I like the washing out colours more. Always good to try, and hear your thoughts. -dave

I think this is much better than it could be in black and white.
Well…and people died for many, many symbols, other people and ideals in history.
Lovely shot – it has such a strange feel and the textures are awesome.

  • Dave Miller replied

thanks for your thoughtful input, I agree with you about the colour (and history) adds a bit more I think. – regards dave
