In the Hills - pen and ink on paper - 9" x10" by

An autonomic drawing that must have come from many years hiking in the mountains of New Hampshire and my inherent love of natural topography, surfaces, tactile things, and outdoor air. I may color this someday with watercolors after transferrring the design to watercolor paper using my trusty laser printer.

    Are they signatures?
    cool

  • I can’t read my own handwriting, so let me just say that this is a ‘signature work’! I’ve drempt of taking a 2m x 3m piec of paper and doing this kind of stuff, then painting it. Painting is easy, but can you imagine the angst if I make a mistake in the drawing? I’ll need a really big waste basket!

I studied Graphology… your handwriting says a lot about who you are… lol

  • Yes, well I ’m laughing too! In fact, I should put up a Self-Portrait sketch so you could analyze me better. Let me look through my dusty old tombs of ancient works.

  • There! Done! It’s not often I bare my soul. You should feel honored. Sort of like dropping your pants in public. But then, you knew I was an exhibitionist didn’t you? lol

I think it’s beautiful and so full of life! I’m particularly impressed by the variety in size and shapes created. If this reflects you’re personality, you must be a great man!

  • Wow! I think it must reflect my personality because I try to stay as far away from my art as possible, insofar as influencing the dance. Art leads. I follow, though I do stumble sometimes. As to the great man? Well, if nice guys finish last, maybe I will. My wife wants me to live to be 100 years old. Now, where’s that wheat germ? :-)

    Wonderful creation Dave!!
What is autonomic drawing? Is it similar to doodling?
    The result is amazing!! :)

  • Yes, I think I coined autonomic drawing. It is sort of like doodling, but with purpose. Hard to describe it. Maybe I see a misty vision and focus or unfocus the doodle vibration like the control on an airbrush. Something like that.

    Creep, creep and climb…
    signs and signatures,organic combination
    of intention for showing…
and hidding at the same time.
    Curling words..with straightfoward looks….
no way to place the eyes….
organic vision of Nature around and inside
    Rosa (great Dave)

  • OH Rosa, (great Rosa), long may you walk the peaceful byways of this Earth with your full heart! – Dave
