The Last Supper has always been painted as though by an observer. But, to me the point of all Christian teaching is to understand the world through the eyes of Christ.
So, what better way to feel our responsibility to others and learn how we should act toward one another than to put ourselves in Christ’s shoes so to speak. This painting tries to do that, and tries to catch the moment when all the disciples (only some of them shown here in modern dress) suddenly realize what Christ is doing and what will happen soon in the future.
This is a “Let’s Pay Homage” to all the painters in the last who have painted “The Last Supper” and to the good tenet of the religion that the work is based on.
“The Last Supper” was featured in Hand Painted or Drawn Buildings and Architecture in August 2009.
It was also in the top ten of the PiMT group challenge Art in Art in August 2009, and was featured in the Imaginative Realism group in September 2009.
Also, this painting was spammed by the amazing Reinhold Brecht. I am actually very proud that he would chose my piece out of the 1000’s of pieces of great art on the Internet. Here’s is what someone else said about Reinhold. I am so honored by him.
(This poor spammed guy shall remain anonymous).
It started a week ago when I received an email enquiring about my aircraft which is for sale on this site and the RAAus magazine. The magazine reference number was quoted.
He called himself Reinhold Brecht (from a German email, .de) and asked if the plane was still for sale.
I replied yes, and there was then an exchange of several emails re engine, general condition, avionics etc.
He then offered to pay my full asking price (no haggling) and advised that the sale would be conditional upon his LAME inspecting the aircraft.
OK so far.
He then advised he would send his LAME from England and wanted to deal via Paypal.
Next he advised he had sent the deposit to my Paypal account and it would be pending. All I had to do was send the 2500 Pounds to his LAME via Western Union. He has apparently included the LAME’s payment with my deposit.
When I told him I didn’t have that sort of money lying around, he then became insistent that it happen now, and that I should perhaps borrow it as I would have it returned within 24 hours.
At this point I sent him a rude email suggesting that the ruse was up, and that I wasn’t sending my money anywhere.
Beware of this. He is good, and appears to know his aircraft speak.
Anyway, Reinhold said my painting was “magnificent and exquisite”. What better honor can you have than to be singled out in such a mavelous way. I feel I am now famous. Long live Reinhold Brecht.

Hey Dave,
You painted this LONG before Dan whathisname came up with DaVinci Code..and you saw the woman in the group way back then…as ever ..the forward thinker, the futurist… this is one of my favorites, although I believe I have progressed to atheism at present, he was still a man and saw many things we didn’t and still don’t….anyway…the backgrounds of this work are as amazing as the subject. I wish some rich somebody would support you so you could get all the stuff in your head out, w/o the ties to the Earth that hold you back…I’m gonna win the LOTTO and we’ll be off!!!
GEt to work…buy paint!
