The Millenium Stone - watercolor - 8" x 10"

I have no idea what that means. It just seemed pretty solid to me, so that title just came out of nowhere, which is where most of my art comes from as well, so who am I to judge?

This work is a watercolor on 90 pound cold press paper.

The Millenium Stone was featured in Paintings Modern and Beyond – PiMT in September 2009.

    Solid it is….but just as a concept…
    visible… for a moment..
the shapes, shades, textures are organic and inviting to dream about the recreation of a a new different being….as if a mind-body would evolve into another shape. I know this is quite true, but seen just as our own eyes can see it So….not the truth.
Art. is tryin to get to the “real thing” all the time… and the artist’s mind is not that of one “interpreter” but of a “journalist” of the Essence… though.. is not a picture frame… for one is out there, it belongs to the evolution of the viewers
    And working into them.
    Aso this is….
Woman in process… fighting against the lineal mind of the “animus”.
    Rosa (I love it)

Hi Rosa, Whenever I stretch my mind and idea of bodily form, I may twist and turn it, blob it, or make millions of feathery fiber tendrils, but whenever I am through stretching I always seem to come back to the human form. And in dancing I realize this is the form I love best. Only know older I have to do most of my dancing in my mind’s eye, or live it through watching others and wishing I could just stand up in my seat and wave my arms and legs wildly all over the place. Hah, it would be laughable as the ushers dragged me out of the theater, eh?

    Thanks, Dave

Nice work Dave. Art for art’s sake

  • Dave Martsolf replied

Hi Clare, Glad you like it. As I look back to the day of creation of the original line drawing I think you are right. The indescribable art force just picked up the pen and let go on the paper. – Dave
