Wild Deer & Blackbird, Phoenix Park, Dublin by

On the rare occasion that I diversify away from trees and landscapes I do love to photograph the wild deer running around the Phoenix Park. On this particular day the entire herd seemed to be enjoying a nice relaxing day, so relaxing that this fellow allowed his friend [the blackbird] to sit and enjoy a picnic on his back.
Taken in the wide open spaces of the Phoenix Park in Dublin on a beautiful, but cold, winters day.

Enjoy my blog – Visions Of The Phoenix Park

cute :) I saw a bird do this the other day too, very amusing :) I like the tones in this too, rather nice :)

  • Hi SarahJane, I am only assuming they are feeding from the deer’s fur. It is a very amusing sight though and the deer don’t seem to be bothered about it in any way. Thanks for visiting my page by the way. Dave

Ah, I hadn’t thought of that – interesting. The ones I’ve seen just hop on, have a little look around, then hop off again :)
