another from the series shot in a old peoples home….such dignity and wisdom why in the western world do we push and herd such people into places…left to wait and fade away…….
old, white, black, man, portrait, grainy
Love it, beautiful portraiture – pixel perfection.

Great shot Dave,This image has lots of character.his expression could be saying so many things. It is a pity our society is structured in a way that at a certain age we become inconvient to our kids and a fast paced community. Which is a huge pity because it is such a wasted resource sitting there just wasting away. And that well be us one day sooner than we think. I too had the same thoughts last year and photographed a series of people in their eighties. I must say it was the most rewarding thing i have done. Top shot Dave and keep’em coming.
thanks, Danzo, for taking the time to make such interesting remarks…appreciate it, cheers
great character study, wonderful portrait and expression. excellent treatment and shot.
There’s reflection here, even a wry conclusion as he sorts through a memory corridor. Here’s a presence that can access wisdom and information formed by experiencing a lifetime of data. You’ve captured him, it seems, an instant before he revealed something well worked, yet significant. Perhaps an agreement, perhaps a revelation. Or maybe an anecdote that borders upon a parable? Those lines there… they seem earned. Yet his eyes hold a sense of humor and perhaps compassion? He seems kind. Kind is hard to retain, eh? Nicely done Dave…
Excellent portrait. Glad to have a chance to view your work. Well done!
Gorgeous! Here is an image with character…. I love the tone…. Pure, a moment in his day….
