Hi on a note to photographers and the law, a home office report on stop and search under the s44 terrorist act it has been reported that there has been 100,000 people been stopped under this s44 act this year in London, the home office would not say what percentage were actually not photographers. In the Indepentant an artical reports that if this trend continues by 2015 all photography will be banned in public places in England, if it is not stopped, as for terrorist’s they don’t need to go out taking photographs as their is enough photographic information on the net to do that for them from the comfort of their own homes, so it would appear that all this s44 stop and search would have little or no affect, on capping terrist threat in the UK. The Home office also said that the public namely photographers did a great job of suppling vital information to police in tracking down and sighting terrorists in the act, So this would actually alienate photographers from giving these images over to police in the future.

Seems this s44 is a bit contradictory – they want us to take photos to help them – yet they will prosecute us for it… Hmmm typical – I’ll have to look into how things stand here in Auss – Thanks for this Dave it will go into all of the groups I host

i find this horrendous before long it will be like a dictatorship here, hate to think of a future here, the worlds gone bonkers, dawnx

I second exactly what Dawn has said . I think it is mostly down to over zealous police.
