Out of all of my work, I like this one the best. I am drawn toward its simplicity, but for me it evokes emotion. Melancholy is often depicted in the color/hue of blue (for some reason, I’m not sure), so I like how this picture fades and darkens. I like to look at it as though I am moving away from the deeper blue and closer to the light, and maybe even away from the picture entirely, maybe even into one of your paintings… a happy one :). Even though deep dark color is only a small part of the overall picture, it has a strong and powerful pull to it. The darker section has a way of holding onto what it grasps. I like to think that one day I might not feel its pull, but then I would be ignoring the fact that melancholy will always exist to some degree. This is why I am floating away somewhere in the expanse of “The Sky, Unfocused”.

    it is great simplicity….

  • I’m a’really slackin’ over here! Thanks vampvamp for the comment! I love this minimalistic shot. This is about as complicated as I wish my life could be :-) Although, psycho-crazy CAN be fun too (sometimes), but it gets exhausting after a while! Thanks for the great comment!

A daring picture, you must be sure the camera gives you the right colors. Is there a horizon?

  • Hello! A while after posting this, I realized that the darker color is actually the blue shade portion of a car’s windshield. I like the gradually shifting color that this adds to the picture of the sky. Is that what you mean by the camera giving me the right colors? There is no horizon here, as this was taken from the perspective of straight up… or at least in the 80degree range. Thanks, loderevy, for your comment and add!
