Throughout the years there has been tales of a cursed doll. This doll is said to protect its owner from their greatest fears. It’s almost like a dream-catcher, but much more efficient. No harm can come to this beloved toy’s playmate. As time goes by though…the child grows older and begins to neglect the doll, leaving it to gather dust. When this happens, the doll mysteriously disappears. Some have said that the doll will wait until they are sleeping and whisper, “Catch me if you can” in their ear. Then the doll runs off and the morbid game of tag begins. During this chase, the owner will find themselves face-to-face with their greatest fears, the very things the doll used to protect them from. Few have spoken of this. Few believe them. Yet, soon after the disappearance of the doll, the owner also disappears. All that is left is a mysterious new doll with a poem written on a little card. Sometimes there is blood, broken glass, or the room is completely torn apart. Every time there is a different doll, but the same poem…
“I can see your fear
I can see your pain
But don’t be sad
For a friend you will gain
Keep me close
Hold me tight
Play with me
I will keep you safe at night
But if you forget me
I will be very sad
And what happens to you
Will be very bad
The nightmares emerge
A soul will be taken
A face will change
Then a new friend shall awaken”

Thank you. There is still much to be written for this.

I don’t want to say anything… but I am glad you are pursuing this.
I represented just such a thing in one of my works a few months back. I have it buried in the ground with only the ears showing
Oh my. o_o

Very good concept. Nothing worse than a doll with a grudge. haha…. keep writing!
