Erected in 1951 by the Australian-American Association, this 12-metre memorial stands at the northern end of Newstead Park next to Breakfast Creek (Brisbane). Is was the first American war memorial in Australia, and the eagle on the top was sculpted by Tom Farrell of Ipswich.
