Darśana is a Sanskrit term meaning ‘sight’ in the sense of an instance of seeing or beholding, and relates to both vision and perception. In Buddhism it implies insight into reality as in the ‘path of seeing’ and most closely approximates the Western term ‘philosophy’.
Applying this notion to photography and art, it can describe the journey from the moment an artist sees and captures a subject, through the creative path of seeing with ‘the minds eye’, to its transformation into a form of art for sharing with and being viewed by others; thereby, spawning an opportunity for renewed vision, awareness and insight.
Darsana as an entity on redbubble comprises the visions of two people; as depicted in our redbubble portrait, which is an image of one each our eyes combined to create a single visualization.
We create in the hope of sharing our pleasure of seeing with others, as we are inspired by viewing the creations of others.
