Mosquito Larvae by

This mosquito larvae located just below the surface of the water looked to be attacking the snail. It’s quite interesting to watch the minature world within our water feature.

Thanks :-) … If the snails don’t eat them the frogs soon will.
We discovered heaps of frog eggs last week, they’re now tadpoles.

Bloody amazing, well done indeed, coolest looking snail I’ve ever seen – so this is an aquarium of yours or a pond with a glass wall?

  • Nothing so fancy, just a pot in the back yard.
Agree, cool snails. Must be that blue glow they’ve got goin on.

WOW amazing, that really is amazing how on earth did you see it shoot it?

  • Good question… I took lots of photo’s.
The modelling lamps on my new flash (mt-24ex) helped alot. The larvae are just noticable using human eye, but identifying and then focusing at this magnification is near impossible as they all go to the bottom of the pot with slight movement. So… I hunted around looking through the camera being careful not to dunk it in the water.   :-)
